Cheaper Than Dorm Living!
The further away from campus you look, the cheaper your apartment will be! Apartments are on average close to $800 if you are kinda close to campus. This is A LOT cheaper than dorms!! Although I would recommend living in dorms your first year, definitely try apartments! It is a lot more convenient and you will have more independence!

LOVE IT!
The experience has been great! The people you meet are amazing and will be life-long friends. The social experience is like no other! Academics are tough but manageable. You definitely have to put time aside for studies. Academics should be your main priority, but there is always time to have fun! So much to do around Berkeley and SF is only a BART ride away!!

Could Have Been Better
I went in to talk to the financial aid advisers once and was disappointed. The advisers that are available do not really know much about how the process works since they do not process the information but rather collect and resubmit to others who analyze and crunch out numbers. I asked how my financial aid package would work and what I should expect and the answer I received was, "This should be okay, but I cannot guarantee anything. You'll receive your offer in a few months." And so I say, it could have been better.

Recreational Sports Facility
Great place to work out! Really cheap for students- only $10 a semester. There are a lot of machines available for students and community members to access. Can get really packed sometimes-mostly really late at night. Also really packed after New Year when students try to fulfill their New Year's resolution. Great way to stay healthy and not gain the freshmen 15!

Pretty Diverse Campus!
Although the majority of students are asian and white, several ethnic backgrounds can be found on campus! The students on campus come from varying economic backgrounds as well. Every student has a mind of their own, which ads to the overall experience on campus!

Pretty Lenient
The campus is pretty lenient. When it comes to drinking, as long as you are not belligerent and stumbling all over the place, you should be fine. Police usually only go after people who are disturbing the peace and quiet and making living impossible for others. If you're able to maintain yourself and be peaceful, you have nothing to worry about. However, they will usually go to parties and break them up. Nothing to worry about, their first appearance is usually a warning. They are aware that minors drink, they just don't want to see it happen.
