So Much to Do
Houston has so much to do! The Rice campus is located near several city hotspots such as Rice Village, the Medical Center, and the Museum District. Because of its location downtown, there are lots of free or discounted opportunities for Rice students.

Rice Village Rules
Rice Village has lots of places to shop and eat all within walking distance of campus. Also, students get a card that gives discounts to several of these places. Students definitely have to check out The Chocolate Bar!

It's Awesome
I've never been so happy! The classes are challenging, but the students are not competitive and are more than willing to help you out if you need it. Weekends are the best! Our motto here at Rice is "work hard, party hard!"

It's Required
At Rice University, students are only guaranteed 3 years of housing, so students usually move off during their junior year. There are several options ranging from apartments to actual houses. There is a large price range available.

Ensured Parking, but at a Price
There is plenty of parking on campus, but parking permits are very expensive. The closer the lot, the higher the price.

Engineering Is Amazing
The engineering program at Rice is amazing!!! It is definitely a lot of work, but it is totally worth it. The engineering program prepares you very well for life after you complete your undergraduate.
