Brandeis University had a new discussion posted by nnechi95

How racially diverse is Brandeis? Are the neighboring schools and communities the same or different? How would you sum up the diversity at the university?

Brandeis is very diverse!! When I arrived I was rather shocked at all the different countries represented at Brandeis. In particular, there is large population of Chinese and Korean students. While, many other countries like Spain, Brazil, Germany, Africa and Japan are definitely represented on campus. In my experience, I have found that there are much more students from China than many other countries. I personally think thats wonderful. Waltham is pretty diverse too! I go in every so often and there are a large population of Hispanic people. To sum it all up, Brandeis is very diverse and you will be surprised at how many kinds of different people you'll meet!

Thanks for replying! After the countless student reviews I have read, I have come across many students saying a vast majority of the students who attend Brandeis are Jewish. Do you believe there is any truth to that statement?

Lol obviously there are a lot of Jews at Brandeis... its Brandeis. I think the distribution for Jews to nonJews is 50-50 last I heard

How would you describe Drexel's campus?

Too small and there are no stores that are convenient to get things that are important like food medicine and the buildings for classes are located to far away from the dorms

How is the Science program at Brandeis? Is it rigorous?

It is extremely rigorous, although I think you will find that is true with any top tier university. The Neuroscience program is one of the best in the country. As challenging as it is, the professors are very helpful and accessible.

How is the undergraduate atmosphere at Emory? Is it strong?

Terrible. 3 groups: 1. Tristate jews; 2. FOB Koreans that don't speak English; 3. Local GA kids who just go home all of the time. If you aren't B-School of 100% premed, don't come. If you are b-school, odds are you will change your mind after 2 months here.

What is B- School?

The business school

I completely disagree with mikeandike. Emory doesn't have school spirit, but there are always a ton of things to do with a ton of diverse people. Most liberal arts and premed related sciences are fantastic and the professors truly care about students.

Thanks for your responses! I had been looking at Emory for quite sometime

Swarthmore College had a new discussion posted by nnechi95

How is the Nigerian population at Swarthmore or even in Philadelphia?

Although it is a small population because of how small the school is, there is a presence of Nigerians on campus. There is also a significant Ghanaian population as well

Thanks for your response!

How is the diversity at Northwestern? I am Nigerian and I was wondering if there is a good number of Nigerians on campus.

I think the school is highly diverse, but sometimes there are issues with different groups mingling. I know someone who is Nigerian, so I'm sure there are others!

Northwestern has your average amount of diversity for a PWI, but socially groups are often rather distant from each other
