Campus Integration With the City
The life of the city is as incorporated with the life of the student campus. There is not a separation and people love to be a part of everything. Overall security is safe, just avoidance of a few roads and there is always something going on. Not to mention, the weather is amazing. The parties, beaches, and optimistic attitude gives the local atmosphere of Charleston an amazing feel.

Security
The dorms are extremely safe. Bikes are sometimes taken if someone does not lock it up and leaves it for even five minutes. Otherwise, there is not much robbery going on. Some roads are necessary to avoid only for personal safety if one is walking alone. Police officers and security guards are always there to help and the Cougar Shuttle will pick up from anywhere if someone is insecure!

Parking and Availability
All apartments are going to be quite expensive if you try to live near campus and have a safe, close location. The apartments and houses though are rich with history and architectural design. Parking is awful but can be easily dealt with by buying a pass.
