University of Georgia Parking was reviewed by nost

Most students live off campus after freshman year, but some stay on campus. I've never had any problems with parking. Cars are usually safe and there's ample space.

Georgia weather is bipolar, but Athens has hot summers and cold winters. I think it's a great best-of-both worlds situation. Not much snow, but it does get chilly enough for a bond fire. Outdoor activities are available year round. UGA has better weather than a lot of schools up North or farther South.

Never had any problems. I enjoy it.

University of Georgia Drug Safety was reviewed by nost

Alcohol is the only biggie. While UGA is losing it's party school reputation very quickly, it's still an SEC football school. Many students drink socially. Drugs aren't that common, but alcohol is very common. Marijuana is the second most common drug. There aren't many who use hard drugs, and those students are represented in the freshman retention rate. Check that out if you haven't yet. Also check our 4 year graduation rate.

If you don't drink, you can easily find other people who share your views. If you do drink, Athens is for you. Anything in moderation is alright. UGA is a party school with a steller and improving academic reputation. This is all that matters.

Balance is key. As an honors student who's always focused on grades, I can tell you that this is a truth, a virtue really.

Cheers!

Another section where an explanation is not needed. If you're looking for some UGA insight, take a look at my academic review. That'll give you parents and students something to read!

UGA is mostly white. While the Asian and Indian population has been growing at the university, African American and Hispanic populations are still not very well represented. However, UGA has had a lot bigger global influence in the recent years. We're seeing a lot more international students. With 700 student organizations, you can bet that you can find an organization that will cater to your nationality. Everyone is friendly and there are very few isolated incidences of hate on campus.

KUSA and ICE are very active here. Black student organizations are very close knit and active as well.

Good, not great. Still love UGA

Many knock UGA as a party school. We're well rounded, but let there be no mistake. UGA has become more selective 15 out of 16 straight years Michael Adams has been president. Our 2016 student profile is outstanding http://ugaadmissions.blogspot.com/2012/04/2012-admitted-freshman-statistics.html

UGA's GHSU medical partnership is paving the way for pre-health students at UGA as well as bringing fame and recognition to the university. http://medicalpartnership.usg.edu/

UGA boasts a very successful pre-med program. Our pre-medical committee is staffed by an MD and several seasoned professionals to help students apply to medical, dental, pharmacy, vet, optometry, nursing and PA school. http://premed.uga.edu/

Terry school of business is world renowned. Recently, the Board of Regents approved a 20 million dollar proposal to build new facilities for the college of business.

The College of Engineering was established in the summer of 2012. Of course, it's not Georgia Tech, but already US News ranks our biological engineering program 11th in the nation. UGA is striving to become the next big public university.

Grady School of Journalism is ranked as top 5 in the nation. Grady recently expanded it's radio and TV broadcast program.

Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, my college, gives students just what they need to be successful. Our chemistry and biology programs are very highly acclaimed. We are pushing for more research - which means more chances for undergrads to participate. UGA has expanded it's science programs ten fold in the recent years and continues to do so.

A bit of a surprise, Athens is actually a hot spot for musicians. UGA's fine arts and music programs are very well received in the industry. Several UGA alumni and Athens residents have made it big time including the band REM.

UGA's classes are large at first. As you progress in your major the classes shrink considerably. Many freshman classes are weed-out classes. Classes are difficult, but students manage to excel AND have fun. UGA is quickly losing it's party school name. UGA use to be ranked number 1 party school, then number 2, and now number 5. This happened in only three years.

All I can tell ya is if you can get in, come here. This alumni will be looking out for you and your fellow grads. Go dawgs!

There isn't very much to be said here. UGA is ranked as a university with some the fittest and most athletic men and women in the country. There are countless intramural and collegiate level sports. Football is big here at UGA, but there are a myraid of other collegiate level sports that UGA excels at. Several UGA students participated and WON in the recent summer olympics. There is always plenty of outdoorsy stuff to do at UGA. From hiking to biking, everyone finds some sport or activity that they love.

Georgia State University Academics was reviewed by nost

Not so great – The academics at Georgia State University is very sub-par. The faculty are very helpful and motivated. Since Georgia State isn't known for the best and brightest students, they really try their best to help. "Teachers make sure everyone at least pass" is a common notion regarding the professors at GSU. In particular, the chemistry department is very small and close knit. Classes may be big, but due to the mostly unmotivated student body, it's easy to network and get any help you need. GSU is an up-and-coming school. I don't think it will be on the grounds of UGA or Georgia Tech anywhere in the foreseeable future, but the school is surely making progress. The problem lies with the student body - not the professors. It's sort of a bell-curve that brings the quality of education down.
