Career Center – I have tried to contact my schools career services department to maybe find a change in career while I am pursuing my 2nd degree. Although I did not get my Associates degree here, I feel as though that they should be helpful to me seeing as how I am currently attending their university. I have not been able to reach this department and after several e-mails and telephone calls I am very disappointed at how well they are at trying to actually place students once enrolled.
The curriculum at my current college ensures that I will have the knowledge expected for my career choice. It focuses on challenging each student individually and holds each student accountable for their own work and deadlines. While individuality is expected out of each student, the group discussions also ensure that students can effectively communicate with peers and are socially competant to withstand social situations both in careers and life in general. The classes are challenging and require the time and effort put forth each course to make good grades.
The work load at my school is very realistic. Although I believe I would succeed just fine at a ground campus, I use distant education as a way to get the required education to enter the work force and be a great mother to my children while providing for them my time, attention, and knowledge. It can become overwhelming at times with the readings, however each course has specified chapters that relate to the discussed topic to ensure academic achievement.
