Rooted in Tradition
Spelman College is a beautifully intimate place to attend school for four years. There is a lot of history here and the college does well at preserving those traditions. Although, sometimes I wish they could move a little bit faster into the present. All in all, the professors are highly skilled and want to see you succeed, you are safe, and most of all you feel welcome. Thousands of women united around a saying, "A Choice to Change the World!", and it is most definitely true.

Through the Gates
I have yet to feel unsafe on my campus. There are security cars constantly patrolling and maintaining vigilance over the campus. There has been issues with people stealing but I just make sure to keep my door locked at all times. Simple as that. The gates onto the campus are controlled and watched 24/7. I feel protected and don't anticipate feeling otherwise.

Pretty Forgiving
People rarely get into "trouble" with the college. First-time offenders usually land in one of the deans' offices and get a slap on the wrist. They are more strict when it comes to things like, men on campus after a certain time(especially not in the dorms). Visitation hours are enforced by the dormitories but not strictly. There is a dress code but it is not strict and is rarely enforced.
