Security System
There are locations wth emergency buttons that contact police to that location if you are in or near a dangerous situation.

Off Campus
There are many options for living off campus that the school have great transportation to and from. However, the apartments are still rather far away if you missed a shuttle or something. Also, most of them are quite pricey with questionable management.

Transportation
There are plenty of garages to purchase a spot in per semester. There is also visitor parking in the central area gargage for $1.00 per hour. Meter parking is pricey if you stay for more than one class or if you drive every day. There are shuttles, but the times of arrival are not easy to follow.

Carolina Dining
The food options here are numerous. They have a range from soups and salads to sushi to healthy chicken and fish or even the basic grilled burgers and hot dogs. Some of it is expensive but usually worth it. The school offers meal plans, so you have an allotted amount to spend per meal depending on what meal plan you buy if you decide to get one.

Night Life
There are great options in five points of Columbia, but it is all 21 and older. This is understandable, but students in college still get fake IDs and are more troublesome than if they were just allowed into certain places. But, after about 8 pm, everyone under 21 either has little club options, or they sneak around.

Rules
I feel there is good control over the student body. There are enough rules that are expected to be followed while still understanding that we are adults and need to learn some things on our own.

Greek Life
I'm not a part of Greek life, so I may be biased, but it seems that the people who rush and pledge are only trying to buy friends. It's a guarantee to have people to see and hang out with if you spend thousands more each year. Not worth it if you ask me, but there are people who truly enjoy it.

Financial Aid
The process is not too difficult, but I am one of three children who are dependent on a single mom. There needs to be more options for our family when she makes enough income to support us, but it is sales, and 48% of her paycheck goes back to taxes. So, it may look like she makes $80,0000, but we barely keep half, and that makes living difficult, not to mention trying to pay for college.

Diversity
There are so many opportunities for students whether it deals with race or not. There are several cultural clubs, but also plenty that include any and every race.

City-Campus Combined
USC very much has a campus feel to it, with all of the buildings being comparitively close to each other. However, we are also right within the city of Columbia. It is the perfect combination to give students the college experience while also transitioning them into the real world.

Athletics
There are so many options in the athletic department at USC. Between the regular sports that everyone knows of such as football, baseball, and soccer, there are countless intramural and club teams as well. It's also possible to participate in multiple teams at once. Perfect for getting involved on campus!
