What is better the Allendale or Grand Rapids campus/dorms/meal plan?

I live on the Allendale campus, and I love it here! Many of the undergraduate classes are here, and there is a wide variety of dorm styles to choose from. I never use my meal plan enough to worry about it, but the food here isn't too bad overall.

The Allendale campus is the best if your'e looking for great dorms and meal plans.

The Allendale campus is more populated than the downtown campus (Grand Rapids). Downtown living is a little more cheaper than Allendale but their food services close quite early. I would go with Allendale!

In my opinion, the Allendale is the best for anything.

I'd have to say the Allendale campus is better. Although the living cost in Grand Rapid is cheaper, Allendale is more populated and has a variety of things to choose to eat. I'd go with Allendale!

Allendale is better for the overall most options and best campus life. With more dorms, students, campus dining.

How is being an Arab international student here? Does it affect your social life? How is life in Mankato? How is this school rated academically?

Life in Mankato is fantastic. I love attending this university, I have met a lot of people here. I would rate this school an 8 academically.

I am not an Arab student but there are many clubs and organzizations that accomidate arab students and help them feel "at home"

I can only speak for myself, but MNSU is a diverse campus and all students are very welcoming. There are a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities that students become involved in so its very easy to find a group.

I am not Arabian, I am caucasion (White). Not sure if I clicked a wrong button

Does this university offer financial aid for internationals ?

I think so, but I am not for sure. However, good grades in high school and being Methodist gets you scholarships.

Our International Admissions Coordinator, Abdel, would love to help you with your question. Please contact him at 540-665-4581. Thanks!

How is transferring after attending Sierra College? Is it easier transferring only in California or all over the U.S.A?

It's not too difficult, but you need to make sure to have everything together. Otherwise you have a long journey ahead.

There is great guidance at Sierra college that helps you along the way to whatever school you choose to tranfer to.

I have not yet transferred, but it seems to be simple.

I do not know yet, I have yet to transfer to another college.

Sierra College makes transferring rather easy, with clear requirements and guidelines.

I will have a chance to transfer to all over US colleges.

Sierra College has set me up good to transfer to almost any school that I would like to.

From what my counselor has told me, the easiest schools to transfer to are the state schools but that doesn't mean that you cant transfer else where. Its just a matter of working with your counselor.

I haven't transferred from sierra college yet but so far I have found it difficult to figure out what classes will transfer to the college I want to transfer to.

Have you tried using assist.org? For each College in CA it lists classes specified as transferable (from Sierra to the specific college). It is the website that the Sierra counselors use to provide a list of pre-major classes.

Added Edit: This is from the main page on the website:

"ASSIST is an online student-transfer information system that shows how course credits earned at one public California college or university can be applied when transferred to another. ASSIST is the official repository of articulation for California’s public colleges and universities and provides the most accurate and up-to-date information about student transfer in California."

Transferring is ok if you use the counselors and such...I had troubles transfering to one CSU...I think it's difficult to transfer in general.

It was a very simple process. I finished my entire transfer process without stepping foot on the campus.

In california it is quite easy just be on top of it when selecting classes in the first place and be sure your credit will transfer to your intended universities

Does this school offer financial aid for international students ? What about the minimum SAT and GPA requirements?

Wash u isn't known for having the best financial aid department, but they do do their best to help students. They do offer aid to international students. I don't think there is a minimum SAT or GPA.

WashU is extremely generous,I am an international student, and WU satisfied all my need. It's a great school!

How is the campus and nightlife here? Do freshmen go to the campus in Allendale or Grand Rapids?

The campus is nice and most people go off campus on the weekends. Basically every freshman lives on the Allendale campus it is the main one

Sometimes but its not raging if you know what I mean. People at this school are pretty lame if you ask me. They don't often go to downtown.

You can find a lot of parties on the Allendale campus or the surrounding student housing. Grand Rapids is great for clubs and such if you're 21+. Or some places like the Bob have college nights for 18+. Don't go to Ragg's!
