I have never been in harm on the University of South Carolina's campus. However, sometimes at night there are some areas which are not lighted very well. There are emergency buttons all over campus though. The university's police department also encourages students to call whenever they feel the need to!

I'm only aware of the computers in the library. There probably are other computer labs around campus though. However, I always find an available computer when I need one at the library. Also, printing is available at the library for only 10 cents a copy. The wireless connection in the dorms is not always reliable so you might have to buy an ethernet cord.
