Academics at Villanova University

A

A Top-Notch Education

I chose Villanova because of the excellent School of Business and the campus environment, and I've never regretted my decision. Almost all of my professors have been great (there's the occasional doozy) and they really do make the effort to make time for students. The curriculum is rigorous but certainly doable, especially if you work hard.

Drug Safety at Villanova University

B-

It Is College...

Like any college, of course there is drinking. Yes, there is a lot of it. But I must say it is not to the degree of some of the crazy drunk riot stories you hear from gigantic universities. There are definitely a number of smokers, although not an overwhelming number. If you're really determined to get hard drugs you could find them, but they're definitely not prominent. If drinking isn't your thing, you'll be alright. I know plenty of people who don't drink and they still have social lives. Radnor Police have nothing better to do than to look for parties to bust, so that's a concern, but people still find a way to have a good time. And Villanova Public Safety can be strict at times, but they're usually not too awful.

Parking at Villanova University

C-

Inconvenient, at Best

Parking is not good. You can't have a car until junior year because parking is limited. As a junior you typically live on West Campus, but there's even less parking there, so you have to park far away on Main Campus half of the time, depending on whether or not your roommates have cars. Luckily a lot of things are in walking distance and there are two different trains that are right on campus, so you're not stranded if you don't have your car. It's just a convenience thing.
