The atmosphere is pretty ok and safe within the neighborhood. It's usually quiet. It's 30 min train ride from the school to Boston so that's convenient, just the difficulty of transferring trains. The main street is Moody street which offers restaurants, a small movie theater and a few places to look at through the window. Nothing big to shop there. A few thefts have happened outside of campus in the town but not often.

Computers
Computers seem to be available in many places on campus which is good, the only thing is you have to pay for printing unless you're in typ or sssp. The network and speed are usually very reliable and service is basically everywhere on campus. People do have their own printers sometimes for convenience.
