Does the college offer a good amount of financial aide to out of state students? Also are there a lot of scholarships? What does the average student pay?

To be honest, no. The scholarships are hard to come by because the Alumni aren't as strong as contributing as they could be. Depending on your financial aid status, you could get a good bit of money but not much from the College unless you are instate. The average out of state tuition is 35-40,000 and the average in state is about 15-20,000

How is the interview required to apply? What types of questions are asked?

Being a transfer student the process to get in was fairly simple. I was accepted rather quickly and only had a few issues with getting all the rest of my paper work in, but other than that it was easy.

I have a 25 ACT at the moment, what do I need to get to even be considered for admission? Is the opportunity of being admitted as difficult as it seems, is BC very selective?

Try to get around a 30

Is the college super selective like the ivy-leagues? What about financial aide, is it generous?

I get in BC, but the money is a big ?

What do you mean?

One year cost $56,000, so even I get in but no such big money to pay for.

Oh okay, so you got in but did not receive a lot of financial aide? What were your scores for acceptance?

A miracle

My GPA 4.03 ACT 30, Total 8 AP Class between 11 & 12 GD

I just went to an info session at BC and it is very selective. Even if you have the highest SAT/ACT scores and 4.0 GPA they said they've had to turn a lot of well-qualified candidates away since they simply don't have that many "slots" available. As for Merit Scholarships they give out very few and they are nearly impossible to receive.

If I am someone who is not very interested in sports, would this school be for me? Is the school dominantly preoccupied with sports?

Yes, this campus is very active including tons of non sport activity and organizations.

You don't have to be into sports, but you will find yourself becoming a football fan! Don't worry, there's something for EVERYONE here.

Is this school considered elite? I am noticing the ACT/SAT score averages are on the low side and I know that those tests do not always mean how smart one is, but in comparison to top-notch school, how does Stetson rank? I guess what I am getting at is, is Stetson considered prestigious?

ranked #3 among "Regional Universities in the South" (doesn't include national ones like Duke, UNC, UVA etc) so yea, quite solid!

What are the minimums to be accepted into the Honors program?

candidates will present SAT scores of 1325 or better, with a minimum of 600 on each side; a solid academic curriculum for all four years of secondary school; plus a class rank in the top quintile. The admissions committee pays particularly close attention to the writing sample, as well as evidence of active and creative commitment to scholarship.

Is BC as beautiful as the photographs on google make it seem to be?

Absolutely. They do leave out the concept of "your thighs will be ridiculously toned" because of the rolling hills. But the greens feel like something out of a poem, the library like Hogwarts, the oldest buildings like something out of an architecture textbook - absolutely stunning.

the inside of bapst is actually quite beautiful. and stokes is pretty nice too. but in my opinion theres a lot of grey and could use a little more green. just my opinion though

I toured it in the dead of winter and still found it breathtaking. From the exterior architecture, surrounding landscape, and even the interior furnishings, it truly is a beautiful campus.

yes

How are the pre-med and biology programs?

great if you stick with them, but very difficult. something like 80% of A&S freshmen begin as declared pre-meds, and very few leave intending to go to medical school. I think this is partly due to the difficulty, but also because the core makes you explore other career paths - naturally, people find other passions and change their majors. but while I was pre-med, the advising was stellar.

Is BC very hard to get into? What is a safe ACT score, GPA, extracurriculars? Also, does the school offer a generous amount of financial aide to those who need it?

financial aid is "eh" in my experience. i'd say a safe act/sat is 30/2000

My sister goes to boston college and we are an average middle class family.. We're paying around 45,000 a year, over half of our income. Lets say my parents aren't satisfied. Lol. If financial aid is really a concern, look elsewhere

Is UHM generous with it's financial aide?

I'm not sure if generous is a good word. There are quite a few scholarships offered. There are also manoa opportunity grants which are offered to those in need. Fill out the FAFSA and see what you are eligble for.

Each sitiuation is unique. Be sure complete a FAFSA and apply for financial aid prior to the priority deadlines.
