Residence Halls
The dorms on DUs campus range from very new and nice to quite old and eclectic. All dorms are incredibly convenient for classes and participating in on campus activities. I currently live in Nelson Hall which is a new dorm on campus. Nelson and Nagel are new sophomore dorms. The freshman dorms are at opposite ends of campus and students have a lot of spirit about which dorm you are in. With merit scholarships from the university, part of it is applied to housing so most students do not pay the entire housing cost.

AMAZING Sports
The Pioneers are some of the best. Our varsity sports are great and the student athletes are really nice.

Access Anywhere in Denver
Denver and DU are very accessible. The University provides students with public transportation passes and we have a lightrail stop on campus! The lightrail can get you downtown, to malls and to the sporting venues of Denver. Also, a DU student started the University Ski Bus which goes to a different ski resort every weekend of Winter Quarter for $10-$15. Around DU there are a lot of restaurants that students can just walk to. Overall, you will have no problem getting anywhere you need to go.

Very Safe
DU is located in an awesome area that is very safe. I walk alone to the gym at night and my friends and I walk to dinner at all hours of the night with no fear.

I Love DU!
DU is an amazing school. The students are incredible- all very outgoing, friendly and social. DU is awesome because it is smaller so you see familar faces walking across campus but I am still meeting new people every day! We have amazing academic programs, shout out to the great business school!, and our sports kick butt. Not only is campus life amazing, but DU is the best area ever. Denver has great nightlife, the mountains are only a short distance away for great views, hiking and camping and we can go skiing every weekend! It doesn't get much better than that!

Decent Financial Aid
DU gives out a LOT of merit money. APPLY APPLY APPLY! Chances are, you will get some sort of tuition and housing scholarship. Nearly all of my friends have a merit scholarship ranging from $8000-$19000 per year! I also particfipated in an Interterm class in Argentina and got a $1500 scholarship just based on grades!

Always Fun
There is always something to do around DU. Whether you take the lightrail to downtown or go to Thursday movie nights, there is never a dull moment at DU

Reserved Parking
Regardless of where you park on campus, you need a permit! Permits are $200-$500 per year based on which building you are parking near and whether or not it is covered. There are always parking spots as long as you have a permit. If you don't get a DU permit, you would have to apply for a street permit from the city of Denver which you will likely not get unless you live off campus. I love our parking garages because they are so convenient for dorms and academic buildings.

DU Drug Use
There is not an excessive amount of drug use. When there is, it is mostly marijuana. It's not a big drug secene UNLESS you're in greek life. Drinking is much more popular. If caught, it's strictly enforced but most people get away with drinking. Drugs, not so much

Decent Policies
DU is a pretty laid back school. Campus safety and the RAs report all dug use but alcohol is more of a don't see, don't care policy. RAs will look the other way so long as it isn't breaking noise violations or extremely obvious. This also depends on who your RA is, some are much more leniant. Academically this school is OBESSED with the honor code. In some classes you even have to sign at sheet at the end of each test stating that you did not cheat.

CO Is the Greatest
CO weather is spectacular! When it's nice out, the fraternities are blasting music and sitting in baby pools outside their houses. Kids play frisbee in the green, tan outside residence halls, eat on dining hall patios and go running. Also, when it snows, everyone is outside playing in the snow! We LOVE Colorado weather and participate outdoors regardless of weather

Amazing Food Off Campus
There are sooo many places off campus to eat. Bars, frozen yogurt, noodles and company, illegal petes, jimmy johns, starbucks, jasons thai, dominos and so many more. You can use flex money at a lot of places around campus. Plus Denver has some spectacular, fun restaurants
