Xavier Dining
Like any college dining plan, the cafeteria gets old after a while. At Xavier, the cafeteria give a decent variety with above average taste. This year, Xavier moved it's dining facility to their new residential complex. The new cafeteria is beautiful with a great atmosphere. With certain meal plans comes $100 dining dollars which can be used at Subway or Blue Gibbon on campus. There is also Ryan's Pub which provides a meal exchange on Mondays-Thursdays.

Having a Car
Parking is available and having a car is a benefit. You can get by without having a car, but it's nice to get off campus. The only drawback to on-campus living and parking is that the parking is far away from the dorms. It's not fun walking to the car in the snow. Parking permits cost $100 for the entire year.

I Begged for More Money
I originally chose University of Loyola Chicago over Xavier because Loyola offered me a better financial aid package despite my Xavier preference. I called the financial aid office multiple times and begged for more money. On the final day to decide, Xavier called me up and offered me more money than Loyola. I was so happy after receiving that call.

Normal Workload
My first semester was too easy. I never had homework. Second semester was tougher and I really had to buckle down. Xavier professors are generally very helpful and interesting. Some professors can be a bit dry. Registration is always stressful. Classes fill up quick

Living Off Campus
The surrounding area is not the best neighborhood, but its very affordable. I plan on living off campus.

Hook up Culture
Xavier has a mandatory "Hook Up Culture" course depicting how bad hooking up is. I would say hooking up doesn't happen as often as at a bigger university but if you want to and you're good looking then you can. Girls are average. The volleyball teams have the best looking men and women. Parties get really crowded but drinking in the apartments with friends is really fun. I would advise against starting a new relationship freshman year. I made that mistake.

Cintas Center
The basketball arena is state of the art. Gyms are ok. Nice new outdoor basketball courts and sand volleyball courts.
