Unpredictable Except in the Winter
Summer and fall are absolutely beautiful, especially on campus. Winters get really fierce though, with low temperatures down to 20 below (degrees Fahrenheit), plus wind chill. Winter shows its face off and on up through about May typically, but after a couple years you get used to it. The beautiful spring, summer and fall make up for the very cold winters.

Easy Process Once You Do It the First Time
I remember being really stressed about financial aid before my first semester, because the FAFSA money didn't show up in my account until right before the semester starts. It's fairly predictable though, and once you fill out things the first time around it's a piece of cake the rest of the time. It's easy to switch your financial aid over a semester if you change tracks as well.

Fantastic Professors and Curriculum
Most professors are absolutely incredible and teach very animatedly. They are always very kind and make themselves available for help if you ever ask them. Most teachers are very good at teaching as well. The curriculum is also fantastic.
The workload is usually pretty tough, but that should be expected from college professors. The responsibility is placed largely on the students' shoulders for their own learning.
There are plenty of study areas in the library, the 2nd floor is the quiet study area that I use when I need to focus.
Free tutoring services are available from the school, which is a great opportunity.

Parking Is Okay If You Park Far Away
Because it is a relatively small campus (it takes about 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other), if you park far away because there isn't a spot close to your class, you only have to get to school about 10-15 minutes early. There is a new parking system that divides up parking lots, and depending on which end of campus you're on you can get decent parking. South parking permits are cheaper and more available, so if you're on that end of campus anyway it's a good deal. North parking is much more crowded.
Campus security is very strict about ticketing if you are parking in the wrong spot. Tickets are usually about $25.

Not Enough Reliable Computers
Few computers on campus have the software needed to complete homework for many classes on campus. Also, the computer labs in many of the buildings are taken up by classes much of the time during the day. The wi-fi is fairly reliable and fast if you have your own computer, but it is annoying to try and print things on campus because in the library it is nearly impossible to find a computer to print from during busy times of the day.

What Dorms They Have Are Good
There are only so many dorms (7 complexes total that I know of) on campus, but the cooking dorms they have are worth the freshman experience and fairly cheap as well.
The options for student housing off campus is extremely limited as far as married student housing goes, but there are some reasonably priced single housing close to campus with enough amenities for someone to live by.

Amazing Mathematics Program
In the mathematics program here at BYU-Idaho, the professors are amazing. They bend over backwards much of the time to help their students feel capable and responsible for their own learning. However, it is (as any mathematics program is) very challenging and it is not an easy program.

Strict, but for Good Reason
All students sign the Student Honor Code before coming to the university. It is a private university and the school has very high standards for its students, to help them avoid bad situations and to help them focus on studies. Alcohol and drug use are prohibited on- and off- campus for all students. There is also a dress code for students to keep while on campus, though it is not as strictly enforced as it should be to respect the students who actually care about it.

Have Your Own Car (Or Borrow a Friend's)
There are no bus routes, so the only way to really get places without your own car or a friend with a car is to take the Salt Lake Express, which is really only affordable at the end/beginning of the semester.
