Safe on Campus

On campus, anyone is pretty safe. Although there is not really any security enforcing this safety, the campus is usually just filled with students and no one else really. Off campus can get pretty seedy, and if you are not prepared for this, I would cross Berkeley off of your list. As a larger guy, I feel fine here. But I don't know how some of these smaller female students feel comfortable walking at night.

Undecided

Being an undecided student, you will feel isolated and pressured into choosing a major (Not by the school but by your peers). If you're into math and science, you will fit right in. If not, gonna be tough.

Almost-Prime Location

I'm a Socal kid at heart. What does this mean? Location means a lot to me. Let's be honest, Berkeley is not a great city in which to live. There is no real attraction other than the University, and the homeless population is pretty, well, incredible. BUT the great thing about the location is that it is about 30 minutes away from San Francisco via BART. SanFran is amazing, and I have never gone there without exploring a part of it that completely blew me away.

If you decide to become a golden bear, expect to study a lot more than you did in high school (which was probably a lot to begin with)
