Focus After Graduation
The process of getting your degree requirements seemed very generic. There's not much personal attention unless you're in a small, very localized major. In my experience, the university is mainly focused on just getting to graduation and paying tuition without much focus on how or if your degree will be helpful afterwards. Unless you know people or are connected, the actual worth of your degree comes out to be painfully average.

It's All About What You Make of It
UT was not my first choice, but going into my first year, I knew it would be up to me to make the most of it. You can get a very good college experience here, but not without effort. I took advantage of as many opportunities as I could fit in four years and the friends and memories are there to be made if you look for them. I wish my degree had been as rewarding as my coming of age experience, but it's my journey and I'm going to make the best of it.

My Degree Should've Come With a Warning Label
Theoretically, a degree in Spanish Language and World Business sounds nice. But once you get into the job market, you quickly learn that it's too generic for some jobs and not broad enough for others. I wish I would've double majored in Spanish and Business instead of how the program makes it a major in your language and a minor in business. And I wish someone would have suggested that to me instead of over inflating the advantages of the Language and World Business program. Now I'm going back to school for elementary education, which I wish someone would've recommended I get on that track in undergrad!
