General Campus Aesthetics...Meh.
The buildings at SRU aren't bad, but they aren't very good, either. With the exception of the new dorms and science halls, all of the buildings scream outdated, and quite frankly make the school seem cheap in both cost and quality. C for average-ness.

It Evens Out...
I'll be honest; Slippery Rock is overall not a very good school. The facilities are lacking, the weather is downright oppressive, the students are generally incredibly, painfully stupid, and the administration does little to nothing to accommodate students. That having been said--the amazing faculty MORE than makes up for the dreary aspects, in particular Dr. Permenter and Dr. Lacom in the English department (this is coming from a non-English major) and the professors of the Psychology and Political Science departments. If it weren't for these gems of professors, I would have transferred out in an instance, but they make it more than worth it. The faculty is amazingly open, and they welcome students dropping in to discuss the curriculum of their classes, current events, or pretty much anything. I highly recommend SRU if for no other reason than the profs I listed above. SRU gets a B+ because of these amazing faculty members.

Don't waste your time
The guys (I loathe to call them "men") at Slippery Rock are either meatheaded frat boys, idiots who think they're country boys, or army boys. None of these are a desirable option. The girls aren't much better; they're either air headed idiots or have no interest in dating.

Avoid
Western PA weather is terrible in general, but SRU is part of the slow belt, and winter goes from October to April. The roads and sidewalks are rarely cleaned, and never salted/sanded, and the administration is pathologically against cancelling classes, even during snowmageddon. My friends and I have had several injuries thanks to the crappy weather.

Pretty good...
Permits are only $10 for a whole academic year, which is amazingly cheap. However, everybody and their mother has a car on campus and most of the student body commutes, so finding a spot can be tricky. Still decent, though.

Diversity? Where?
Statistically, SRU is not very diverse at all. The only religious groups on campus are for Christians--it seems that SRU's definition of "diversity" is having 10 Christian groups of all stripes and nothing for Jewish people, Muslims, Atheists, etc. (I promise, they do exist at SRU.)
