Encouraging social change and equity for diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, religious, and sexual groups is integrated into every course. Since all communication is done via online, which means written, following netiquette rules in context is vital in online interactions and assignments in order to minimize biases, racist remarks, and other inappropriate comments.

Walden University Online Courses was reviewed by psycundergrad

Online courses require a high level of self-determination and self-efficacy in order to keep up with the high volume of discussion posting, reading, and application workload assigned on a weekly bases and at an accelerated pace, than a traditional brick and mortar school. A major drawback of online courses is no face-to-face interaction and thus, relationships are much hard to develop and maintain. Establishing a student/mentor relationship is also absent from an online course environment, which makes acquiring recommendation letters virtually impossible.
