Scholarships at Princeton University

A+

Great Financial Aid

The average Princeton grant is 99% of the cost of tuition. Even then, nearly 60% of the student body is on some form of financial aid and there are absolutely no loans given.

Local Atmosphere at Princeton University

A-

Small Town

Princeton, NJ is a fairly small town, centered around the University. Nassau street has a ton of different kinds of ethnic restaurants, ice cream shops, or pretty much anything you can imagine. The most convenient/popular establishment in Princeton is the Wawa. As for nightlife, most students stick to the Eating Clubs on Prospect Ave. rather than going out to local pubs.

Computers at Princeton University

A

Computers Are Top Notch

Princeton has top notch computer labs spread all over campus. Rarely do I ever see a lab completely filled with students. In the Fall of 2009, the University established a printing quota for the academic year (2100 sheets), which is much more than what the average student uses.

Facilities at Princeton University

A

Facilities

The majority of Princeton's facilities are up-to-date and have been recently renovated. My only complaint is that Dillon Gym can seem a little outdated, but other than that, everything on Campus looks brand new.

Campus Dining at Princeton University

A

Dining Is Fantastic

The food at Princeton is fantastic, simple as that. As a freshman and sophomore, you typically eat in one of the residential college dining halls. The food in the dining halls is generally the same across the board and is very good. As an upperclassmen, you can choose to join one of 10 Eating Clubs.

Campus Housing at Princeton University

A

Great Dorms

The dorms at Princeton have really improved over the last 4-5 years. With the addition of Whitman College, and the complete reconstruction of Butler Colleges, the quality of residential life has exponentially increased. The dorms all have heating, and in some cases air conditioning, and the newer dorms have private bathrooms or bathrooms steps outside of your door. However, in some of the older dorms, you may end having to walk down 3-4 flights of stairs to use the bathroom or do laundry.

Diversity at Princeton University

A-

Lots of Different Backgrounds

While there may be somewhat of a divide between students of different economic backgrounds, there is an amazing amount of students from all over the world, from everywhere in the United States, and from all different sorts of backgrounds.

Athletics at Princeton University

B+

Alumni Spirit

Current Princeton undergraduates don't typically go to every athletic event on campus, however, they always sport their orange and black shirts, scarves, sweatshirts, etc all over campus. The athletic facilities are all state-of-the-art and are fantastic. If anything, it seems like Princeton alumni care more about some sporting events than students.

Transportation at Princeton University

A-

Dinky

Princeton University has it's own train station called the Dinky. The Dinky runs every 15-20 minutes and takes you to Princeton Junction where you can catch a train to pretty much about anywhere, but students mainly use it to get to New York or Philadelphia.

Weather at Princeton University

B

Weather Can Be Crazy

Weather at Princeton can get kind of crazy sometimes. We will have one week where is is 60-70 degrees in November, and the next week it will be in the 30's. Princeton also tends to have very rainy springs and somewhat cold winters. Overall, the weather isn't too bad, but it can be unpredictable.

Inside Scoop at Princeton University

A+

Pride

Princeton is very unique and is different from all the other Ivys. Princeton has its own Eating Club system which I really enjoy and has one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation. Princeton's alumni are also some of the most enthusiastic and devoted people. Every year, nearly 20,000 alumni come back to campus to march in the P-Rade. With an alumni giving rate of over 60%, it is easy to see why alumni are so loyal to the University and its graduates.
