Previous reviews are wrong: there is certainly a smoking culture at Williams college. However, it isn't a particularly interesting one, nor is very widespread. Drugs are very expensive here and if you want anything stronger than weed, it will be fairly underground. Some of the rich kids can afford Cocaine, but it's not a big thing at all.

Academically Amazing, Socially Lacking
Williams may be full of smart people, but it isn't full of particularly interesting people. Dress code is North Face or Patagonia, LLBean Boots, and a macbook. Theres a lot of money and not a lot of social diversity.
The entry system can be a pro or a con. If you don't click with your entry (which easily 2 or 3 people in each entry do not) then it becomes hard to participate in freshman life the way it is set up. Some entries continue to live together until Senior year... It's a pretty artificial way of making friends.

Not Bad but Also Not Cheap
Four words: Sushi Thai, SpiceRoot, Subway. Spring Street doesn't have much else. There are bars with pub food and some other restaurants on Water Street. The little off-campus dining we have is pretty good - my main complaint is that Subway is the only place you can get a cheap meal.

Hmmm
One color printer on campus. Network is iffy. The student help desk people at the Office of Information Technology know nothing.
