Rich Students
My school is known to have many wealthy, mostly white, students who tend to show off their money by bringing new cars onto campus. There are also many asian students (fobs) as well. But overall I'd say that it is a pretty diverse campus. At the same time there are many students who are depending on financial aid and are struggling each semester to stay at this school. The tuition is high and students depending on financial aid struggle every semester.
As for sexual orientation, it is San Francisco after all and there is a lot of gay people around.

Campus Police Can Be Annoying
Like many other schools, alcohol is not allowed in the dorms. Although some RAs can be pretty "chill", there are others who will call campus safety and have you written up if they find out that you drank or smoked weed in your room.

So Far Ok
I guess what makes this school unique is its location. USF is located pretty close to downtown SF and they provide free transportation (MUNI).The dorms are old but students can deal with them. My experience has been okay because of problems in my dorm. I guess if could do this all over again I would not choose this college and go for the cheaper option instead.
