Greek Life at Old Dominion University

C

Greeks Are Trouble

Greeks on campus either live in the dorms or at the houses right beside campus. Since they are in the dorms the Resident Assistant have become more strict about everything that is done. The Greeks act as if they are still in a house and cause a lot of noise. Then again if they live in a house they are pretty cool to be around. They do help out the community quite a bit too.

Campus Strictness at Old Dominion University

C

Limited to No Tolerence

The school and police are pretty strict about drug usage and underage consumption. If you are caught by the police or school for underage drinking first you will go to the school board and see what kind of punishment they will give you. Then they send your parents a notification of what happened. After the first strike then they put you on suspension or expel you. For Drugs there is no tolerance. If you are caught with drugs you go in front of the school board again and they usually will expel and have police take action. So if you decided to drink do it at a place not on campus. If you do drugs do not get caught by your RA's or Police. But the safest way to not get caught is not to do it in the first place.

Parking at Old Dominion University

D+

Pricey

Parking on campus is a nightmare. First you have to pay a $233 parking permit for commuters or a $266 parking permit for resident. Then trying to find a parking spot is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. So if you are driving to school like most people do than leave one to two hours before the class starts because of traffic and it will take about thirty minutes to find parking. But if you are a freshman resident on campus then you are not allowed to have a car unless you have an extenuating circumstance.
