Parking
Its awful. There is absolutely no where to park without paying a lot of money. There is no need to have a car unless you want to go to the beach or get out of downtown for a bit. Being out of state, my friends had a hard time visiting because there was no where for them to park.

Transportation
You can pretty much walk anywhere. However, if you want to go to the beach there are is no buss system and you would have to take a cab which could get expensive or use and upperclassmen's car.

Overall Experience
The professors are fantastic and really helpful. The nightlife is not that great. If you love southern preppy and conservative people than CofC is perfect for you. Charleston gets really small really fast and you will learn your way around the city by the third month of college.

Girls and Girls...What Boys?
CofC has a 1:6 ratio so ladies be prepared to share your man with 5 other girls. You can really tell the difference. Also, the boys know how many females they are so if your not DTF on to the next five. There are a few exceptions but they are hard to come by. Also, if khaki pants, boat shoes, and button downs turn you on than come to CofC cause it pretty much consists of southern frat boys. There are a few surfer/skater kids but its not very common.

Financial Aid
I had a 4.0 GPA in HS but because I am out of state and both my parents have a job...no financial aid or help what so ever for me!

Off Campus Dining
The food off campus is pretty good. There's alot to choose from and its pretty affordable. The restaurants are amazing if you don't mind spending money.

Greek Life
there are greeks everywhere!!! its almost as if you are living in ancient Greece. more than 3/4 of the freshman class girls rushed this year. There are frat parties every weekend but they suck and always get busted. Sororities are cool if that's your thing.

Weather
no college anywhere beats the weather at CofC. Its almost november and my friends are still tanning in marion square.

Off Campus Housing
There are tons of options. Mostly only freshman dorm. Housing is all pretty close to campus and relatively priced.

Nightlife
Most of the nightlife consists of bars that require to be over 21 with the exception of a few that people get away with fake ID's but cops are usually there undercover. Pantheon is the ONLY club in Charleston and most people make fun of it and don't go. There are a lot of house parties but they are usually shut down by 1130-12. The cops wont yell at you unless your obnoxious they will just give a noise violation to the house owners. The parties are mostly girls. Mostly dorm parties or small group parties are the best way to go. You will do basically the same thing every weekend. There are occasional concerts or things outside of downtown to go to but that costs money which no one has.
