New and Exciting – We have new buildings for some of the departments and are working on new buildings for others. The buildings are safe and quiet enough to get work done. Very professional looking.

It is hard to find parking at times. The campus isn't huge, so it's easy to see why there is difficulty. Also, the parking permits are a little expensive. As a freshman, you don't have to deal with any of that; freshmen aren't allowed cars due to Montecito traffic regulation. It's honestly really convenient to not have a car, and just take the Westmont shuttle everywhere. Also, if there's a place outside of the shuttle stops that you would like to go, we have a service called Dial-A-Ride.

Top Notch – Our school has the #1 kinesiology department for liberal arts schools across the country. As a Communication Studies major, I have a variety of paths that I could take with this major. The different classes offered and the level of interest the professors take with their students means that I will be prepared for both the working world and graduate school should I choose to take that next step.

Grade a Involvement – I haven't had an internship yet, but I'm involved with plenty of other programs on campus, that serve off campus. One of these is the Liberal Arts Ambassadors, where we go out and serve as tutors/mentors to the Santa Barbara community. It's a very fulfilling job. We have courses that are geared for interships, and many on and off campus internship positions. I know that it will not be an issue for me to find an internship when the time comes for me to apply.

There are no sororities or fraternities at Westmont, but trust me, you don't need them. The people at Westmont are crazy (in a good way) all on their own. We have dances, concerts, open mic nights; there's always an event going on. Some favorites are the Mat Kearney concert we recently had, and Robot Food, which is essentially a rave/techno dance with neon colors and glowsticks.

A Little Bit of Everything – There are all kinds of restaurants out on State Street. Palazzio's probably has the top spot. California Pizza Kitchen is also really great. There are just enough quality fast food places, and a ton of hole-in-the-wall restaurants that are quite tasty.

Beach and City Life – The beach and the mountains are located at opposite sides of the school, so there's something for everyone. Also, downtown State Street is a big attraction - there's restaurants, movie theaters, tons of shopping, and a Starbucks in just the right places.Palazzio's is the best Italian restaurant on State Street and arguably in Santa Barbara. They are most famous for their delicious garlic rolls.

Student Support Is Huge – Though I am not a part of any of our sports teams, I fully support our teams as do many of the other students on our campus. Our teams show great sportsmanship and are never lacking in fan support!
