Journey Through Journalism at Seattle U
As a journalism major at Seattle University, I felt that I was provided with many opportunities to expand and strengthen my knowledge of the field. The major courses were challenging and well-rounded and highly individualized. Seattle U. has small class sizes so this personalized learning experience is consistent throughout the university curriculum. After completing my degree in journalism (with a minor in women's studies) I am confident that I know what type of journalistic activities are or aren't for me. While my peers pursued great internship at local newspapers or news shows, I took an alternative route and did a social media internship abroad. I didn't feel reprimanded for that decision. I had the reins to decide where I wanted my learning experience to go, while still having personalized care from faculty and my advisor. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome of my degree in journalism.

Cars Are Discouraged for Green-Friendly Seattle U
There are 2 parking garages on campus with pricey parking passes sold quarterly. You can get away without paying a couple of times if the campus public safety doesn't recognize your car. There is paid street parking around the campus, but keep in mind we are in the heart of the city and Seattle U. isn't the "college town" where people are aware of the students at all times. Seattle U. doesn't allow underclassmen living the the resident halls to bring cars unless they absolutely have to, in order to encourage them to use public transportation. Faculty members are financially rewarded for using public transportation to encourage environmental friendliness.
