Great Gyms
Occidental offers two gyms available for free to students. One is open from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm and has great equipment. It also has tons of tvs. The other gym is a lot smaller, but is open 24 hours and serves its purpose to those stressed out during late night cram-sessions. They are both kept very clean and are never overcrowded The only negative is that the basketball court and pool are often occupied by the sports teams and not open students very often.

Campus Safety Job Well Done
Campus safety officers are all over campus 24-7. If you need them, they are guarenteed to be there within minutes. They do a good job of keeping strangers off campus and even patrol the area around the school. They will provide escort service within a 3 mile radius of campus with no questions asked. Some students complain about their strict control over parties, alcohol, and drugs, but they are just doing their job.
