Small Twon
Slippery Rock is a small town with not much to do off campus. Slippery Rock is 10 minutes from Grove City where there is a huge outlet mall and plenty of restaurant choices. The town is also 25 minutes from the city of Butler where there's a mall, movie theaters, and restaurants. The locals in Slippery Rock are very accepting towards the college students that live here.

All Apartments Are Different
There are several choices for off campus housing ranging from very cheap to very expensive. In some apartment complexes you also have the option to pay all of your semester's rent up front and just pay for utilities monthly. You also have to pay attention to which ones come completely furnished and which ones you have buy your own furniture for. All of the apartments are within walking distance of the campus so it's okay if you don't have a car.
