Local Atmosphere at Kenyon College

Kenyon College Atmosphere

Kenyon is located about an hour away from Columbus, Ohio. There isn't alot too do other than what is available on campus. The campus is small in numbers but all the buildings are spread out. There are many clubs and activities too partake in. It is a Liberal Arts school, so most of the clubs and classes share a common view. The athletic center is probably one of the biggest attractions of the school. It's located down the hill on the south side of campus. It would look out of place if placed next to any other buildings on campus that have a gothic architecture look. The weather is goes as follows: September and October are nice (not too rainy, mostly sunshine and clouds) November-March is really depressing if you like sunny weather. After that, school is almost out, and you get the month of April to enjoy. Its in the middle of nowhere, and we just started to lock doors this year. The students at Kenyon for the most part are pretty well off financially. So the locals tend to perceive students as being incapable of doing basic necessities. I would give Kenyon College an A+ for academics, but Because of the weather I'll give it an A-

Off-Campus Housing at Kenyon College

Off-Campus Housing

There isn't much off-campus housing...if your a senior you might have a chance (you got to know people). A pretty small campus, so if you have a car, anything is convenient (or even a bike). Parking is terrible.

Inside Scoop at Kenyon College

Campus Life

If you go to Kenyon you need to keep in mind you are going there for the education. I know its the same for every school, but at Kenyon everything revolves around school, sports, clubs, time...everything. Greek life is on its way back to being a little more prominent. Though its not a big deal, being part of a fraternity/sorority is a great way of making more friends that you can keep for life. Kenyon is a great place where anything you do revolves around academics.
