Very Nice Modern Facilities
The facilities here at La Roche College are very modernized..since the college is still considered kind of new..compared to other colleges. Founded in 1963, the oldest building is the Wright Library..which was built in 1963 and renovated in the Summer of 2010. The newest being Bold Hall 2..an extension wing to Bold Hall 1..one of the 4 residence halls on campus. All the classroom buildings are updated with the latest technology and smart classrooms in the buildings with smart boards in the rooms. The College Center Square, the main student union center, is a popular gathering place among many students. The Cantalops Dinning Hall, which is the only cafeteria on campus, and the Redhawk Cafe, the take out cafe for those who want a quick snack, have both been recently renovated also during the Summer of 2010. The Kerr Fitness and Sports Center, built in 1993 and renovated during the Summer of 2011, offers the newest training equitment, a weight room, indoor running track above the gym, and the gym itself, used for hosting various events starting from Academic Orientation, to sporting events through out the year, and ending with Commencement. The dorms are spacious with bathrooms in each room. Overall, the facilities on campus are very nice and attractive to visitors, prospective students, and current students and staff. Since the academic buildings are all connected, LRC can, in some ways, give off an high school like atmosphere since all the classes are under one roof and the dorms and gym are very close by, so you never have to walk too far especially in cold weather. LRC is a great place for those who are looking at a very small college with small class sizes.
