The facilities here are pretty, but the first thing I noticed is that this is NOT a wheelchair-accessible campus at all. Perhaps one or two buildings have elevators; the rest have stairs that would make navigation on anything other than feet impossible. Also, some of the bathrooms are a bit run down and rusty-looking, and for the price I'm paying, I'd expect better. But the dorms are very spacious and nice and I love that they let me bring my dog to the Pet Hall on campus. The campus apartments are also modern and gorgeous, and the food here is pretty decent (though not too many healthy options, unless you want a salad). It's a very pretty campus though, lots of green lawns that are very well maintained and big study spaces. The Edmunds Center (our gym) is nearly brand new and is very nicely maintained.

Awesome!
There's a ton of great places to eat in Deland and in nearby Orange City. Pretty much every restaurant you could want-TGI Friday's, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesdays, Moe's-is within 20 minutes of the school. Every fast food chain (Sonic, BK, McD's, KFC, Taco Bell, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts) is right here next to Stetson, within walking distance (if you really had to walk) and most of these are open 24 hours for late night eating. There's a ton of pizza delivery places, Domino's, Hungry Howie's, Papa John's, etc. and there's also a lot of really great local places. I recommend Brick House Grill for a variety of yummy food or Tony's for great Italian. Everyone really likes Bellini's as well. There's definitely no shortage of food in Deland. And the best part is that most places offer student discounts.

Drugs? What Drugs?
I'd say there's a pretty decent amount of pot on campus at any given time, but definitely nothing harder than that. I think everyone has a beer or two in their fridge in their dorms, but no one's got kegs stowed away or anything like that. Maybe some of the frats, I'm not sure. The policy is basically don't ask, don't tell. As long as you're not causing a scene and being loud and violating quiet hours policies, no one's going to barge into your room looking for stuff. A lot of people smoke in their cars so the smoke alarms won't go off ($500 fine if you set off a smoke alarm and there isn't a fire).
