St. Lawrence University had a new discussion posted by SamuelOBrient

Is St. Lawrence preppy? I've heard some say that it is, while others say it is not.

Definitely depends on your definition or preppy. You will find that many dress similar, but a good portion do dress a little different.

Pretty much all preppy. Collared shirts, khakis, Barbour, Lilly Pulitzer dresses for girls when the weather is warm. St. Lawrence was in the top ten for preppiest schools in the official preppy handbook.

when I went to visit, it looked pretty preppy

I'd say it's split in half. Not as preppy as it was when I was there a few years ago

Depends who you hang out with. You can easily find friends who aren't preppy. I haven't had problems finding friends :)

Saint Michael's College had a new discussion posted by SamuelOBrient

I would say it's just a well-dressed community, not necessarily preppy. There isn't much pressure to be preppy here - you either are or you aren't.

I would say so, but there are a variety of other styles as well.

Is Wheaton preppy? I've heard some say that it is, while others say that it is now.

Now it kind of is.

No not really. Most people have a very chill style. There are a few prep dressers but they arn't common.

College of the Holy Cross had a new discussion posted by SamuelOBrient

How difficult is it to get accepted as a transfer student if you do well at another college?

I would say that it isn't very difficult. I feel as if Holy Cross is very helpful with this process.

Drew University had a new discussion posted by SamuelOBrient

What is the social scene like at Drew? Are there things for students to do on the weekends?

Drew is fantastic. This private school attracts students from all over the US with much diversity. Everyone knows each other, and gets along well. Lifelong friendships are made here at Drew. The closeness created by all adds a warm environment which promotes a healthy academic learning experience.

yes, there are a lot of activities, but I have not been able to participate too much because I have to work at nights in a restaurant by my home.

There are always programs run by the university going on, but if your looking to party, there is always someone doing something. More parties on saturdays then fridays though.

No.

Yes and no. I don't drink much so I don't go out on the weekends. There are lots of things to do during the week and our SPC usually has some activities on the weekend. That said, you may feel bored at times. If you can get a Zipcar (Thank god for those), you can get off campus and go do some fun stuff. There's also a bus that runs from the college to the mall every weekend (And there's lots of stuff around the mall to do).
