Babson College Overall Experience had a new discussion posted by SaraElwell

How is the partying scene at Babson? Are there the typical "college parties"?

The parties are great if you make the best out of them.

It's fun freshman year and then afterward, it gets boring because it's the same old parties with the same people at the same places.

Champlain College Campus Strictness had a new discussion posted by SaraElwell

Is there a partying scene at Champlain?

Is there a partying scene at Champlain? For example, will you get the stereotypical "college party" experience your first year? Do Champlain students party with UVM students?

There is a huge party scene at Champlain. Many of the parties are at the same 4 houses off campus. And yes, Champlainers party with UVM kids

There is not a partying scene at Champlain, but there are some great music venues in town that people love to go to. As well as people love to get together and just hang out.

Being in a college town which is home to multiple colleges will provide the college party experience to those who want it. Concerts at Higher Ground and other events downtown or on campus bring the schools together.

Champlain doesn't have the largest party scene since we are a small school. But with UVM right up the hill, you can find a house party every weekend.

Champlain students only party w UVM if they know UVM kids.

While the campus is dry, you can always find something if you really wanted to, even if it is at UVM, since some students do party at UVM. Champlain however is very strict with their dry campus rules and your body is a container!

I experience what I would call a typical college party but everyone is very nice for the most part so the party scene is rather healthy in burlington.

Champlain students party with other champers and UVM kids. Sometimes Saint Mikes gets in on the fun. All three schools are close together, and people often have a mixed group of college friends.

Yes there's a partying scene, yes if you're friends with people who like to party you'll probably go to a "college party" your first year, and yes Champlain students often intermingle with UVM students.

yes there is a partying scene and most of the time it is separate from uvm. you will definitely get a college party experience your first year.

Yes. A LOT OF FUN! Just gotta know the right people, and the right places.

There is a pretty good party scene at Champlain. Unfortunately, Burlington Police have been cracking down recently. I definitely got the college party experience my first year.

I think it depends on what kind of people you hang out with. I believe less partying goes on on our campus than others, but i think it is just as easy for students to find parties. Yes i would think a large portion of the student body parties with UVM.

There are parties; just look for them. And yes, if they choose to

Yeah, but I'm not a part of it.

Yes there is, but there is not as much peer pressure to be apart of it like there is at many other colleges.

There is typical college parties, along with the "secret drinking and partying" in the dorm rooms. And yes there is partying done with UVM people!

Yes, because it is a college town there are always numerous parties in a 1 mile radius of the school. Champlain and UVM students are often both involved together.

Ask older students for advise on this. they will tell you all about how they "partied."

I do believe there is, i myself have never attended one. And people definitely party at UVM

It is definitely a big party city, if that's what you are looking for, but if partying isn't your thing there are plenty of people to have fun with without going out to party.

Yes there is a party scene. You see it a lot. It happens in every dorm and occasionally will see some UVM students at Champlain parties.

Yes there is certainly the "partying scene". You can choose whether or not to participate. Also, yes Champlain students will often find themsevles at UVM parties.

There's not too much partying that I noticed, and the partying that does happen stays relatively small and doesn't disturb non-partyers.

Partying is more likely to occur off-campus at the houses of students, often upperclassmen. UVM and Champlain tend to coexist peacefully, and may even party together.

Most local parties are a mix between students from Champlain and UVM. If you really want to find a Champlain-heavy party, you will.

There is plenty of drinking and such, but there isn't a great party every weekend. Most of the time the guy to girl ratio is way off. I'm surprised by the lack of UVM kids I've met.

The party life at Champlain depends on the other students you hang out with. There are parties, not so much on campus but in the surrounding areas, including the UVM students.

Champlain is a dry campus but like most colleges there is always something to do, people love to get together and have a good time. Having UVM so close also makes it easy to find places to go and have fun.

Champlain is what you make it. Champlain is not a party school but if that is what you are looking for you can find it. Meeting UVM kids out at parties do happen

Champlain is a dry campus, so there is no drinking on campus even if you're 21. That being said, it's college, so it happens and it's not avoidable but most people are smart about it and take it off campus or downtown.

Not really, more laid back and yes sometimes Champlain students "party" with UVM students

There is a bit of a party scene, but it tends to take place off campus, at UVM, or in one of two of the freshman dorms. Normally, there's more marjuana usage than drinking, but there is some of that as well.

Wasn't my experience. Champlain students are welcome at UVM events.

My child is a freshman and is already complaining about the partying. It is just not there thing. What advice would you give them ? Where do they find friends that are not party people?
