I do not have a meal plan. But from the opinions of others i have gathered that they have a very broad selection of foods. There is always a healthy option, salad bars, fruit, etc. They give you plenty of flex bucs, about 50 a week.. this seems like a little much though. If you have an unlimited meal plan, you probably wont be going to eat at the other options on campus. But the opportunity to be able to is always nice. When you break it down the meal plan ends up being about $8 a meal which is the same as if you dont have a meal plan and you eat out at the dining halls. I suppose the benefit of having a meal plan is to get the flex bucs?? Im not sure.. it doesnt really sound like a good deal to me! but hey.. plenty of people use it, so it must have its perks. As far as the other meal options go there are regular fast food options such as, chick fil a, subway, tropical smoothie, chinese, etc. There are also plenty of restaurants. Two in the student union, and maybe 10 or so down by the arena.
As for me, I choose to go grocery shopping and very rarely by campus food. I live in a dorm, so i do not have a kitchen but i still make the best of it. I usually have fruit/ yogurt/ cereal for breakfast, make a sandwich for lunch, and a salad for dinner. I also have frozen meals i can whip up as well as pastas and smoothies. I like this because it allows me to control what I eat and make sure that I eat healthy!
