So Many Opportunities
If you declare your major as a freshman, ther are so many opportunities to meet with your departmental faculty that further enhances your experience here whereas as undeclared you don't get invited to dinners or events. I am a political science major and in the middle of the first semester the freshman poli sci majors were invited to a steak/salmon dinner to meet with faculty. It was a nice change up from West and the conversation was fantastic. I highly recommend declaring going into school so you have the opportunity to do things you wouldn't normally get to do.

It Works Out but Needs More Healthy Options
I personally don't like West dining just because I got bored very quickly and it is very out of the way from my dorm, however the omelets are the best thing there. There are a good number of options for students to have other than West. If you are an athlete you get to eat at Upper for your season which I was lucky to be able to do. O3 is the organic stand at Union is awesome. I just wish there was more fresh food available.

Understand ED Screws You Over
If you are an athlete like I was, I was encouraged to apply ED by the Coach here. However, the college does not give you aid if you apply ED no matter what your situation. My family had to go back to financial aid 2x to get just a work study. Because if youre an athlete they know you are going here for sure and it just isn't worth it. If you have good grades and you are recruited, just apply RD.
