Health & Safety at Seattle University

B

Fairly Safe

I've never felt unsafe walking through campus at night by myself, and I'm a girl. However, I would strongly caution people to walk around the areas right off campus in small groups because there are some pretty sketchy people around Capitol Hill and the rest of the surrounding area.

Not Much to Do If You're Under 21

Seattle is known to be a great city if you're over 21, however for those of us who are under 21, there isn't much to do without things getting repetitive. People go to parties but they're not what most would picture when they imagine the typical college party. Parties are usually a bunch of hipsters having sketchy off-campus parties.

I usually end up walking downtown to see a movie with friends, eating at one of Seattle's many great restaurants, or just going on walks and exploring the city.

Scholarships at Seattle University

A-

Great Merit-Based Scholarships

My family doesn't qualify for financial aid because my parents are in too high an income bracket, but Seattle U offered me an excellent Merit-Based scholarship that basically covered my entire room and board. SU is very generous with merit-based scholarship and almost all my friends are getting some sort of aid whether it's merit-based or otherwise. It's pretty excellent considering tuition here isn't that expensive in comparison to other schools like it such as Santa Clara, U of San Francisco, or Fordham.
