Lots of Options

Between taxis, zip cars, free buses, trains, and charter buses to Chicago and the airports, it's very simple and effortless to get to Chicago. The tricky thing is that the bus, if not express to Chicago takes a good amount of time, while the train (the South Shore Line) doesn't have enough departure or arrival times to always be an option for travel. The South Bend Airport does have a reputation of having flights (especially United) get canceled from Chicago, but if you're coming in good weather, you shouldn't have an issue, and the airport is 10 minutes from campus.
