was freshman orientation awkward?

Not at all

It can be if you're more of a 'anti' social person or shy. But you'll find things to keep yourself occupied and might even make a few friends:)

Overall how was your experience at Freshmen orientation?

It rained all day, so we didn't get to do everything we wanted. I did get the opportunity to try Fresh Food Company, tour different dorms, and sit in on a couple of the academic programs. I felt the professors were very informative regarding their academic programs; this helped me decide on my major. I visited representatives from housing which gave me a realistic idea of which dorm I would get in. The housing department informed me that sororities have a mandatory meal plan, so if you are in a dorm that requires a meal plan you will pay for two. The overall experience was good.

did you know anyone going into orientation? hows the overall vibe in meeting new people? was there alot of walking around campus?

is there a mall nearby?

yes, if you call 2-3 miles away nearby

There's the Tallahassee Mall, which isn't close, and it's horrible. The movie theatre is great but, unless you want only sneakers go to the Governor's Square Mall on Appalachee. It's not within walking distance, but if you're driving, it isn't far at all.

how long does it take to drive from FSU to the mall?

whats the best dining plan a freshman should get?

It depends on how much you eat. If you eat a lot, go with the unlimited plan.

On a scale of 1-10 how important is it socially to join a fraternity here at this school?

It is not important socially. Yes you have an automatic large group of friends in a fraternity, but you can still have that outside of a fraternity. No one on campus judges you by if you are or are not in a fraternity on you socially.

How involved is the Asian community at fsu? Do they show up at parties?, do they rush for a frat? How often do you see an Asian person on campus ?

Is orientation awkward? Do a lot of people know each other already?

Orientation is not awkward, its more exhausting than anything. Some kids do know each other but you get put in groups by last name so a lot of people don't know each other.

It's not awkward at all. Not many people know each other, but your orientation leader makes sure you feel welcome and involved.

As a freshman what meal plan should I get ? What is the most efficient eating plan ?

The best meal plan for a freshman is the smallest one with Flexbucks. You don't eat as much as you think you do and you can always add more to your meal plan if you find that you do go to the dining halls more often.
