Off-Campus Housing at Seattle University

B+

Housing Abundant and Affordable With Roommates

Capitol Hill is known for being one of the most expensive, and slightly overpriced, neighborhoods in Seattle. However, you can't really beat the nightlife and culture on The Hill. If you can find a good house or apartment to share with a couple roommates off-campus housing can be convenient and affordable and provide you with the needed privacy and 'escape' from full-time campus life.

Athletics at Seattle University

C+

Athletics Popularity Growing

Seattle University recently made the move back to D-1 athletics and this has proved a mixed bag of success. Some of the smaller programs have demonstrated results; however, basketball has mostly floundered during the season. Athletes are given certain special treatment and prestige and sometimes seem resented by some of the students on this more academically progressive school.

Inside Scoop at Seattle University

A (Wannabe) Progressive Campus

Seattle is known as a very liberal city in the US. Seattle University follows a similar vein in accepting largely liberal and social justice minded students. Their mission calls for educating leaders in all fields to work for the world and others. Many professors are not shy in tailoring their courses to politically minded folks.

With that said, this school is still very much interested in expanded and growing into a premier institution of athletics and academics. Sometimes the administration seems to forgo its values to ensure they get bigger.
