Difficult but Plenty of Opportunities and Support
Dartmouth has a pretty rigorous biology/pre-med curriculum. There are many potential pre-meds, so there is a lot of competition. The introductory classes are quite difficult and time-consuming. However, most of the professors are very effective and helpful. The labs, facilities, and courses give you a solid foundation in the subject material. There are also tons of opportunities for students to get involved with research on and off-campus. There is also a lot of flexibility in designing your major and picking what classes you want to take.

It's Great!
Dartmouth is a great place to be if you know how to handle your academics and social life well. The campus is in the "middle of nowhere" so that builds a very close-knit community and you really get to know your fellow classmates well. As long as you balance everything and make use of the myriad opportunities, you'll have a really good time.

In the Middle of Nowhere
Dartmouth is located in Hanover, NH. This is a rural town about 1.5 hour from Manchester and 3 hours from Boston. There really isn't much in the town except for the campus. So, most of the activity takes place in the college itself.

Accessible Wifi and Computers
You can find wireless availability almost anywhere on campus, so most people carry their laptops around with them. However, the libraries do have several computers if you need to use them. Still, it is handier to bring your own computer, especially if the library is crowded. There are printing stations at several places on campus, including many dorms, so having your own printer can help but is not completely necessary.

D-Plan Allows for Flexibility and Creativity
Dartmouth's D-Plan makes it unique from other schools. We have a quarter system of about 10 weeks each and students can design their residence plan according to when they want to be on campus taking classes or when they want to be off for a study abroad program or doing something else like internships or volunteer work. The big drawback is that each term become very fast-paced and intense. However, the D-plan also gives you a lot of flexibility in making your own college experience. You can get quite creative with what you make of your off-terms!
