What is the profile of the average out of state student admitted?

Is it true (as stated on the school's site) that UCSB does not use grades from 9th grade? Thanks

I don't think grades from 9th grade are as critical as those from your sophomore, junior and senior years. If you really rock your junior year grades in particular, you'll have nothing to worry about!

I believe it does because I did input my grades from the 9th grade on the general UC application.
