Dining hall/Cafe Mac is good at first with a lot of variety and vegan options. Fruits and salads at lunch time. However, it gets boring after a while. Biology is one of the most popular majors here at Macalester. There are several concentrations of Biology major that are available: community and public health, pre-medicine, neuro science etc. The Science center is one place that has all of science resources in one place. The professors are well respected in their fields: published, great alma mater credentials, well networked, well-funded. Great internship opportunities are possible with the help of the intership office and also the professors.

Macalester professors are extremely focused on teaching despite their research prowess and commitments. Being a small school, it gives an opportunity for undergraduates to be involved in funded research and publish papers with the professors. Professors are very accessible and focus is very much on learning and solving world problems.
