Howard University: Health $ Safety
The location of Howard is in Washington DC, which can be a unsafe place. Coming from the south, I never understood until I moved here why people didn't talk and smile as much up north it's simply due to your safety. You never know what kind of a person someone is so you can't be extra friendly to everyone. I generally feel the most safe when I'm walking with a group of people, although I choose to travel alone most the time. Health is great because as students we get free visits to our medical center and there's an Howard University hospital just a few blocks up.

Transportation
I love the metro system and that's how I typically get around if I'm not catching a ride with a friend or family member or catching a taxi. There is also a Howard University shuttle service which is extremely convenient for getting to off campus housing and other areas for grocery shopping.

Financial Aid
Financial Aid is interesting. It's often slow, according to many. However, all of my experiences have been quick. Any tips I have would be to find better software or get more employees to possibly make the process go by quicker.
