Local Atmosphere at Saint Joseph's University

A-

Best of Both Worlds

Whether you enjoy the never resting atmosphere of the city or enjoy the quiet, scentic surroundings of the suberbs the local atmosphre of Saint Joseph's University caters to both. The campus is located between the "City of Brotherly Love" and the "Main Line." City Line Ave.provides great outlets for college students: good shopping( Target, Acme) and good eats( Pot Belly's, Qudoba, Chili's, California Pizza Kitchen and more!) There is so much to do in the city of Philadelphia including; trips to the Zoo, museums, downtown earteries, and great exercise/recreation areas. The best part is that no car is needed all of these places are public transportation accesible and make it easy for anyone to enjoy the day or night life of the city!

Academics at Saint Joseph's University

A-

Well- Rounded University

Here at SJU most students either come for the well-renowned Haub Business school or to become some science major in the College of Arts and Sciences. What makes the university so unique is that we offer such a wide variety of curriculum and work hard to update that curriculum each year. Most students have no problem finding interesting classes to fulfill thier eight elective requirements. The univeristy also has great tutoring programs some of which are required wothin a class to make sure studnets always have extra help if they need it. On that note, professors are great with thier office hours and are always available to help students. The workload is manegable if you organize and plan and becomes slightly heavier during final and exam times. Finally, SJU offers a great program for students that have learning disabilities and for athlete studnets so that they get all the extra help they need

Majors at Saint Joseph's University

A

Just Declare It

At SJU getting into a preferred major won't stress you too much. As long as you are sure you want to pursue a career in a particular field you will do fine.SJU also offers majors in which students who want to pursue one thing and change thier minds later will not have a hard time changing majors and graduate on time. Students are not required to declare thier majors until second semester of sophomore year. The only thing that gets challenging sometimes is that if you are a science major your required science labs will get in the way of you scheduling your GERs and can cause you to have to take a night class or two starting sophomore year. The university is good at offering other programs which students can apply to that fit thier scheduling needs such as: study abroad, co-ops, and accelerated programs(P.A.C.E. program).Advisors are always around to help and are required for freshman students to see in order to get first set of grades back.
