Academics

It's kind of a hit or miss here. English, econ, history, political science and pre med are good areas of study. However, most other majors are just jokes. It's also a hit or miss with professors, but usually a hit. Work load is very manageable, but I went to prep school and the work is easier here. However, the school is beefing up its academics, so don't expect joke science classes to be 100% jokes. Each class that comes in is smarter and more driven than the previous class.

Druggggs

Drugs are popular, but not all encompassing here. It's mainly a marijuana school, you have to be looking to find the hard stuff. Few people do coke, and adderol for non academic purposes. However, wait until exams and then everyone will be chugging down coffee and adderol. People don't really get busted for weed, which is why a lot of hallways smell like smoke. But no one is going to force you to do anything.

Parking

There really isn't that much need for a car on campus, unless you have an internship, or leave every weekend. Hondas are regular cars to get stolen, but tons of kids bring luxury cars. Plenty of drunk driving occurs, so be careful. Also, be careful driving around at night, as we have had students who get jumped leaving their cars. The campus has 3 zipcars that are super easy and relatively inexpensive to rent. And the bus is good for getting to close by places. Parking is kind of rough though. Certain dorms have parking lots, but not many. Getting a ticket is a hefty fine that you don't want to deal with.

Danger Danger

This past fall, Trinity saw a huge increase in crime. Our school has many holes in its security system. Yes, students do make many poor decisions, but our campus security is also to blame. There are holes in the fences that Hartford residents sneak through, and hide out waiting for students. Students have been mugged in broad daylight. Fraternities have been broken into. Large football players have been approached at knife and gun point. Campus is increasingly becoming unsafe for everyone, and the administration waited until the crime became so bad to do anything about it.

Getting Better

The school is getting harder and better academically as the school is trying to boost itself in the rankings and make it more appealing to smarter students. All majors, including the typical joke major Anthropology, are getting harder. Professors are grading harder, assigning more work, and challenging their students more. Overall, the academic caliber of each freshman class is increasing and getting much better.

Economics

The economics major is a fantastic major and is super popular. Because the major is so popular, they've made it even harder to pass the major, thus filtering out the weak. The professors are absolutely fabulous, with a few exceptions. The economics building is beautiful, and econ majors have great shots in the job market. As well, you can pick between a math intensive and not so intensive math major. It's truly the best major at the college.
