Big Research University
At such a large school, it is impressive how accessible labs are for biological sciences students! The classes require work, but prepare you for concepts used in labs. Most profs are friendly and welcome students to office hours!

The U Has Plenty of Food!
The U of M has many restaurants surronding campus, many in dinkytown or on Washington Ave. Most restaurants are very resonably priced, and a common place for many students to go.

Not Many Punishments
As long as students are not being obvious about drinking or doing drugs, they probably will not be punished. The school is large enough that they have other things to worry about. However, they will do dorm searches if they suspect anything, and will find what you have hidden.

Academics Depend on College
Depending on which college you are in within the University greatly affects the work load of courses. Science and Engineering are typically much more difficult than other colleges. However, professors are generally quite friendly and helpful, and the registration process goes by how many credits you have completed.

Only Unsafe at Night
The campus and surrounding area is quite safe, essentially the only problem is walking alone at 2am, which is just really stupid to begin with. Doors and bikes should always be locked, though.

Can Always Count on the Fans
Despite a range of season records ranging from Football to Hockey, Gopher fans are proud of their teams and always there to support them at home games. The campus really turns maroon and gold. Facilities are excellent, especially the new stadium.
