Arts Curriculum

Curriculum is rigorous, and like most good schools is abreast of the most current knowledge, ideas and research; however it is pretty old school institutional. It is not the place to go for unconventional or highly interactive methods of learning. You can read and study and discuss the arts but there are few classes where you can learn how to paint or act, and those that there are very hard to get into and restricted by major.

Transportation at McGill University

A+

Ease of Transportation

McGill is a compact campus within a compact city. it is very easy to walk around and get between classes within the allotted time, and is not more than a ten minute walk or subway ride from any of the dorm options. Highly convenient, bike friendly, and is much more worth it to not have a car than to have one. Additionally, there is a second campus on the west end of the island of Montreal, but there are school buses that shuttle back and forth between the two campuses.

Financial Options

For one, McGill is a very cheap school, ESPECIALLY for the value. There are three tiers for tuition, ranging from least expensive to most expensive for Quebec residents, Canadian residents, and international students. McGill gives out merit scholarships to students who had very high GPA's in high school, that continues throughout one's studies if they meet a GPA minimum (3.5, last I knew). There is a work study program I believe, and on campus jobs that hire based in part on financial status.
