Local Atmosphere at Texas Tech University

A

Small City, Great People, Plenty to Do

Many people come to Lubbock, Texas and think that there´s nothing to do, but many others fall in love and make it their home. It´s not necessarily a college town, but there are plenty of dance halls, bars, libraries, and the campus itself always has TONS TONS TONS of different activities. For those looking for a less typical experience, there are museums, art galleries (including a craft/art show every first Friday of the month). There´s also laser tag, mini golf, go kart racing, a prarie dog reserve (which is highly entertaining to watch), the Buddy Holly museum, 2 planetariums, lakes where you can water ski, and more city parks per capita than any other city or town in Texas. The people that get bored in Lubbock just don´t know where to look. Also, the people in Lubbock are among some of the friendliest I´ve met.

Computers at Texas Tech University

A+

High-Tech Digital Lab

There are computer labs in almost every building, and some of the dorms even have labs, but the best lab is the Digital Media Studio in the Library in which they have every program known to man, cameras, iPods, and DVDs available to check out. You can literally make a movie from start to finish with these programs, or design a video game, or design blueprints, or learn a new language, or anything else you can think of.
