Academics at Bucknell University

A-

Incredible Teachers, Difficult Classes

Going to college is intimidating for anyone. The classes at Bucknell are challenging and demanding, but the workload pays off. By taking classes from Professors that hold the highest possible degree in their field, you are exposing yourself to ideas and experiences that you wouldn't have at any other school. Additionally, the small size of the class guarantees that you will receive individual attention and help. The goal of the professors is for you to understand the material, not for you to pass the tests. This aspect of Bucknell academics is one of my favorite things about the University.

Off-Campus Housing at Bucknell University

B-

Off-Campus Is for Seniors

Off-campus housing is a bit of a challenge at Bucknell. Because Lewisburg is so small, the housing options are mostly limited to single-family homes a short walk from campus. Luckily, most of these homes are rented to students, however the lease must be signed over a year in advance, ie if you wanted to live in a house senior year, you had better reserve one during your sophomore year. The price of off-campus and on-campus housing is comparable, but the right to live in a house is mostly reserved for seniors. Underclassmen can enjoy the wonderful on-campus housing options such as the Mods and the Gateways.

Inside Scoop at Bucknell University

A

Study Abroad and Feel Included

I'm absolutely in love with Bucknell. The campus is beautiful, the school isn't so big I feel lost, the professors and classes are educated and interesting, and I've been able to meet some of the most incredible people I'll ever know. Some of the things I love most about my school are the availability of Professors for one-on-one help, that a lecture or lab will never be taught by a grad student, and that it is more common than not for a student to study abroad for a semester. I hope to go to London myself, and I personally know students that have studied in Asia, Africa, South and Central America, and Australia. There are approved programs in almost 50 countries that you can get class credit for, as well as Bucknell-run programs in Spain, England, Barbados, and France.
